Hilde Gammelsæter (31), works in sales for VG Multimedia. Hilde has worked in the VG media house for over five years. She began as a Key Account Manager (KAM) before becoming Product Manager, Digital Marketing at VG Multimedia (VGMM).
“I’m a product manager for digital supplements, which VG Multimedia launched in July 2009. Digital supplements represent a new arena for our advertisers that provides them with the opportunity to communicate in more detail with VG Nett’s readers. My job entails setting up and developing the actual product, making it ready for selling by our key account managers and accompanying them at customer meetings. I find my job really exciting!
Schibsted facilitates relationship building and experience sharing across the companies. The KAM courses which Schibsted arranges are a good example of this; they are well organized in terms of competence building, knowledge sharing and relationship building. I’ve found the things I’ve learnt have been useful for developing digital supplements on VG Nett, and I have established good relationships with my colleagues in Aftonbladet who are working on similar products.
The VG media house is an innovative and very exciting place to work! So much has happened during my time here. The employees are given the chance to participate in really interesting development projects on both existing products and – not least – on mobile devices and iPads.
The VG media house is also good at building and developing its employees’ competence levels. In 2009 I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from VG, which gave me paid leave of absence and a six-month study period in New York, where I studied digital marketing at New York University – that was really interesting!”
