Svenska Dagbladet is a daily national newspaper in Sweden, published in several channels. The first issue of Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) appeared on December 18th 1884.

The newspaper provides coverage of national and international news as well as local reporting from the greater Stockholm region. Among Swedish national morning newspapers, Svenska Dagbladet has the second largest circulation with its 140.000 copies per day. The total number of readers across channels is over 2,2 million a week.

Svenska Dagbladet's core areas are news, business, culture and opinion. The stated position of the editorial page is independently moderate.

SvD has not only been awarded the best Swedish newspaper several times, but also the best designed newspaper in Sweden – and in Europe. In addition the paper has frequently received the Swedish Pulitzer prize and the Golden Spade for best investigative journalism.

2016 SvD was awarded the Best In Show title in The International News Media Association INMA´s competition Global Media Awards.
