Aftenposten and VG win prestigious prizes

Aftenposten was awarded for best tablet app and VG/Min Mote for best new product at World Digital Media Awards in Hamburg.

Aftenposten+ won the prize for Best in Tablet Publishing. The jury described it as: “One of the best newspaper tablet editions: clarity of navigation, excellent combination of short and long content. Good photography and an overall look and feel that reflect the spirit of Aftenposten.”

“Winning the prize for best tablet app is a great recognition as well as an inspiration to us. Aftenposten’s and Schibsted’s ambition is to develop world class digital media houses. Winning this prize confirms that we are on the right track,” says Editor-in-Chief at Aftenposten, Espen Egil Hansen.

Best New Product

VGs MinMote.no was honored in the category “Best New product”.

In 2014, MinMote, a fashion website for daily tips and inspiration, introduced e-commerce to allow users to shop directly from an article. In describing the project, MinMote said its “commercial collaboration with Sobazaar played a crucial role in bringing in new revenue while maintaining editorial integrity and giving the user a simple and user-friendly buy option. We wanted the user experience to be very simple so they could actually get a true idea visusally of the clothes that they are going to buy.”

“The prize shows that you can have an analytical and critical approach to fashion, as well as covering everything that`s fun and uncomplicated about it,” says Martine Lunder at MinMote.
