“I have had the most exciting time of my work life with Schibsted and I am proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing team. But now it is time for me to move on,” he says.
The “New Growth”–project he has led will now be developed further within Schibsted Growth.
Frode Eilertsen came to Schibsted after spending over a decade in the technology sector, focusing on building and leading businesses faced with innovation, disruption and growth. During his time in Schibsted, Frode Eilertsen has helped lay the foundation for a new strategy and digital future with strong focus on Product and Technology. In the new Schibsted organization even more impact is on those two areas.
Eilertsen has for the last six months led a New Growth project for Schibsted. The exciting findings will now be integrated and further developed as part of a new global strategy for Schibsted Growth, a division that invests and develops great digital entrepreneurial companies.
“Frode has been a true change agent and contributed in a unique way during a very crucial time in Schibsted’s history. He has been essential for us in the transformation of Schibsted into a true digital and user-focused company. We have had good discussions on the way forward, and I respect his decision to leave and wish him the best of luck,” says Rolv Erik Ryssdal CEO of Schibsted Media Group.
Frode Eilertsen is already an angel investor, and will continue to be involved in the startup and venture investment community, while advising a few select companies on digital transformation, innovation and publishing.
“I am honored to have been part of such a respected and successful company as Schibsted Media Group. Now we have somewhat different views on the growth initiative, and for me personally it feels like a good time to make a change. I have therefore decided to leave. It is a decision taken in good dialogue with my Schibsted colleagues, whom I am confident will continue to build on the success. Many more companies across industries will be hit by the same wave of globalization and digitalization as the media industry, which will require innovation and profound change. I look forward to diving into new operational leadership opportunities as they come along,” says Frode Eilertsen.
