Therefore, for our trainee programmes we look for motivated, solution-oriented and adabtable people who are able to take on challenges with ease and who also possess a genuine interest for the media.
2 years – 4 jobs – 8 gatherings
As a trainee you are constantly exposed to new challenges, both through your job assignments and the professional development sessions you will be part of in the programmes’ two-year duration. You will have four job placements, consisting of different roles in different kinds of media companies.
For example, you could be a business developer in an online classifieds business, a journalist in a print newspaper, a sales representative in a magazine, a controller in a media house or a business analyst in a free newspaper. You may work within the areas of strategy, finance and project management, in addition to operational job assignements. There are lots of exciting possibilities!
Mentor and personal follow-up
As a trainee you will be assigned a mentor who will follow you throughout the trainee programme. All mentors are senior excecutives and/or hold key positions in the Schibsted Group. The mentor’s role is to be your guide; someone who will support you and provide advice throughout the trainee period. During each period your immediate superior in the subsidiary you are working at will also serve as your guide. In addition, our trainee management staff is always at your disposal for coaching and talks. They will organize regular follow-up sessions for each trainee together with the trainee’s manager at each placement in question.
Programme contents
During the two-year programme the trainees attend frequent training modules, both in the course of and at the end of each work period.We want the training modules to provide knowledge about key processes in our wide array of media companies, while also teaching the trainees important business techniques.
The training modules are mandatory for all trainees and shall:
- Provide the trainees with professional development and skills in selected disciplines
- Provide a selected range of work techniques, methodology and tools
- Communicate significant information and knowledge about the Schibsted group
