Schibsted and FINN ready for JavaZone

“The JavaZone conference is a great place to meet some of the brightest minds in the business,” says Rafik Laatiaoui, Technical Recruiter at Schibsted Products & Technology.

JavaZone is a conference for Java developers created by the Norwegian Java User Group: javaBin. The conference have existed since 2001, and nowadays consists of around 200 speakers and seven parallel tracks over two days.

“It is a great place to meet some of the brightest minds in the business. With their wide range of lectures, they offer something for everyone, whether you’re interested in improving your programming skills or succeeding with continuous delivery. It provides a great setting for broadening your horizon and getting inspired,” says Rafik Laatiaoui, Technical Recruiter at Schibsted Products & Technology Norway

“This is the fifth time FINN has a stand at JavaZone. It has been a great way for us to get in touch with developers and tell about all the cool things we do. The last years we have been able to have several talks at the event, which means we can tell in more detail about our architecture and technical solutions. Candidates often refer to these talks when they apply for positions at FINN,” says Gunn Skinderviken, Director Front End Development at FINN.

Schibsted wants to be the new IT giant in Europe. To reach that goal we need the best people around.

“That’s why it’s so important to sponsor conferences and other events to showcase ourselves. We have a big need for great Java developers and no arena is better to find them than where they go to meet likeminded people and learn from each other,” says Rafik.

Schibsted will have a stand and a Quiz challenge with prices in order to capture potential hires` attention.

“We hope to build awareness around the Schibsted brand and recruit great people.”
