Schibsted appoints Anders Skoe as interim CEO of Blocket

Anders Skoe, CEO of Blocket’s sister site in Norway and the Schibsted Marketplaces leader for Norway and Sweden, assumes today a new additional role as interim CEO of Blocket.

This shift will optimise the exchange between marketplaces within the group. Jan Prokopec has chosen to leave Blocket after five years as CEO.

In Autumn 2017, Schibsted’s business was reorganized into two operational divisions, Marketplaces and Media, and Schibsted Marketplaces was built as a global organization with Sondre Gravir as CEO. in May, Anders Skoe, CEO of in Norway, was appointed leader for Schibsted Marketplaces in both Norway and Sweden. Now he will also assume an interim role as CEO of Blocket with the purpose of sharing insights and creating a closer collaboration between our Scandinavian marketplaces.

”Blocket has a very strong position in the Swedish market today. At the same time, we see  a lot of growth potential which can be realized by closer collaboration with our sister site This will enable us to strengthen our market-leading position and provide a better service for users and customers. Anders Skoe will step in to identify future possibilities and will be responsible for both the Swedish and Norwegian markets,” says Sondre Gravir, CEO of Schibsted Marketplaces.

Anders Skoe has worked in for eight years and has been CEO since 2016. During his leadership, has seen strong development with increased advertising and financial growth.

”Blocket Fordon and FINN Motor have collaborated successfully for a long time. An important part of the work going forward is to identify more synergies like this. I look forward to getting to know the Swedish market better and continuing to achieve success for Blocket together with all colleagues,”says Anders Skoe, interim CEO at Blocket.

Jan Prokopec has chosen to leave Blocket after five years as CEO, a period which has been marked by organisational and financial growth.

“My time at Blocket has been amazing. I am so proud of all colleagues and how we contributed together to Blocket’s growth into a popular movement over the last 20 years. At the same time, we are operating in a more globalized market where you have to adjust quickly to changing needs and fast technological development. Collaboration with sister sites is therefore paramount. To me, it is the right time to turn over the leadership for Blocket, and I am convinced that Anders Skoe is the right person to create an even closer collaboration between the Scandinavian countries,” says Jan Prokopec.
